Stewards & Cooks
Expressions of interest are being sought for casual Stewards and Cooks (Tasmania & Victoria based) on-board Spirit of Tasmania.
Spirit of Tasmania operates twin ships sailing across Bass Strait carrying up to 1,400 passengers and 500 vehicles each night and on selected day sailings during peak season. With over 540 people employed across a variety of roles both on board the ships and ‘on shore’, we are focused on delivering exceptional and unparalleled passenger and freight services across Bass Strait.
Our move to a new terminal at Spirit of Tasmania Quay, Geelong provides an improved experience for our passengers and freight customers and with two new vessels arriving from 2024, this is an exciting time to join Spirit of Tasmania!

STEWARDS
To be successful in the steward role, you will bring a positive professional and customer-focused attitude. Experience in roles that involve food and beverage service and/or housekeeping/cabin services is desirable and applicants must hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.

Salary - $644.88 (for each day worked)
COOKS
To be successful in the cook role, you will bring a demonstrated cooking experience in a professional food production capacity, preferably in a high volume based environment and be able to prepare menus in line with agreed food concept and standard recipes. Applicants must hold a Commercial Cookery III Certificate (Australian registered).

Salary - $768.84 (for each day worked)

- TT-Line Application for Employment (please note that your application form must be signed and relevant attachments be provided in order to be processed)
- Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status or a medical exemption from a registered medical practitioner in compliance with Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAG) guidelines. Employment cannot be offered if you are unable to meet these conditions.
Successful applicants will be required to attend a Sea Safety Training Course at the Australian Maritime College in Launceston, Tasmania from 10 – 22 May 2023 (Vic applicants must be available from 08-24 May 2023).
