Hours/Period of Appointment

Vacancy 1 – Permanent part time shift worker position, working 55 hours per fortnight to commence as soon as possible.

Vacancy 2 – Permanent part time shift worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight to commence as soon as possible.

Vacancy 3 – Multiple casual shift worker positions working on an as and when required basis until July 2021.

Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Food Services Assistant to assist with the food preparation, production, plating service, ware washing, and cleaning duties in the provision of catering services to patients, visitors and staff of the hospital at North West Regional Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of appropriate WH&S legislation and codes of practice have the ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff, of all levels and hold knowledge and experience in the food preparation, production, and service industry.

You will be a self starter, who is able to prioritise work and complete tasks in an efficient but effective manner. You will have sound communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build a good rapport with your colleagues and staff members.

Essential Requirements

  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.  The following checks are to be conducted:
  1. Conviction checks in the following areas: a) Crimes of Violence, b) Sex Related Offences, c) Serious Drug Offences, d) Crimes involving dishonesty
  2. Identification check
  3. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
